The Beginning
One Chess Movement was founded in 2025 by Ariel "Apo" Potot, CPA, ESQ, PhD. OCM emerged as a strategic evolution from RiChessMasters, a private chess organization which began in 2020, to focus more directly on humanitarian and community-centered initiatives.
Based in Bukidnon, Philippines, the organization was established as a private, non-profit entity with the guiding slogan: "One Thoughtful Move, One Lasting Legacy."
This transition reflects OCM's commitment to using chess as a tool not only for competition but also for broader social good.
Programs and Initiatives
One Chess Movement also offers a suite of professional services and programs designed to serve its mission.
Tournament Organizing
One Chess Movement specializes in organizing professionally managed chess tournaments, with a particular focus on "Chess for a Cause" events. These tournaments serve as both competitive venues for players and effective fundraising platforms for humanitarian initiatives.

Training Workshops
The organization conducts training workshops for schools, communities, and youth groups. These sessions are tailored to teach not only the rules of the game but also its life lessons, such as strategic planning, patience, and resilience.
Community Development Projects
By collaborating with LGUs, OCM initiates grassroots projects where chess serves as the anchor. These projects are designed to directly engage local communities and contribute to their development, such as setting up community chess corners or supporting local youth centers.
